About This Project

The Island Dreams project reimagined a previously fragmented center island into a stunning focal point that enhances the overall functionality and aesthetic of the kitchen in this Lake Oswego home. The original design featured a dysfunctional island with multiple angles and varying finishes that detracted from the kitchen's flow. Our objective was to create a cohesive, extra-large island that seamlessly integrates with the existing architecture, giving the impression that it has always been a part of the home. Crafted with precision, the new island boasts an expansive surface area, ideally suited for both casual dining and entertaining. Equipped with essential amenities such as a main kitchen sink, a dish warmer, an ice maker, and a beverage center, the island elevates the kitchen’s usability while maintaining an elegant look. The cabinetry surrounding the perimeter was meticulously selected to complement the island, featuring rich finishes and intricate details that enhance the traditional design ethos of the kitchen. To ensure a harmonious ambiance, we incorporated large pendant lights above the island that not only provide ample illumination but also serve as a striking design element, tying the space together beautifully. The choice of materials was deliberate, emphasizing timelessness and durability, with high-quality finishes that withstand daily use while exuding sophistication. The outcome is a classic kitchen that captures the essence of traditional design while offering modern conveniences. The Island Dreams project stands as a testament to skilled craftsmanship and thoughtful design, creating a space that invites family gatherings and culinary creativity. With a cost range of $50,001 to $75,000, this transformation not only enhances the home's value but also enriches the daily lives of its inhabitants, making it a true centerpiece in this Portland-area kitchen.
