Kowalik Front Entry Portico The 'Kowalik Front Entry Portico' by Maverick Landscaping, Porch and Patio is a landscaping that improved the entryway and increase the curb appeal of this gorgeous home. The was located in Overland Park, which is at the heart of the service area for Maverick Landscaping. Some of the cities we service includes: Belton, Bucyrus, Cleveland, Grandview, Kansas City, Leawood, Lenexa, Loch Lloyd, Olathe, Shawnee Mission, Spring Hill, Stilwell, Prairie Village, and Fairway. The Kowalik was a collaborative design process to create a welcoming entryway that felt connected to the home architecture. One of the challenges we had was the uneven terrain and limited space - both which had to be taken in to account when designing and implementing the plan. We were able to use natural stone pavers in the path to the portico that provided both durability and elegance. The portico also has natural finished wood structural beams and a beautiful canopy for climate protection that adds both function and beauty. Finally, in the landscaping we used many native plants to ensure that the patio and portico area always provides great colors during seasonal changes. The pollinator aspects of the plant choices also are an advantage toward sustainability. We also were able to place soft outdoor lighting to celebrate the new features of the entryway while also providing safety for usage and respective visitors. Once the was finalized, it provided the client with more than they expected, and the transition of the entryway was beautiful. It added an exciting focal point to the property, and provided an exciting enhancement to the beauty of the property as a whole. This was great exemplifies the commitment of Maverick Landscaping to delivering quality in landscape design, and techniques and methodology that provides the client with a space that they share with friends and family!
