The Los Altos Remodel represents a remarkable transformation of a lower-level living space, blending modern functionality with the timeless charm of Tuscan design. Initially comprising a primary bedroom, a bathroom, a walk-in closet, a laundry room, and an adjoining home gym, this project required an innovative approach to reimagine the layout and aesthetic of the area. The homeowners sought to create a warm and inviting atmosphere with heavily textured walls and faux painting techniques that evoke the rustic elegance of an Italian villa. Significant alterations to the floor plan allowed for the introduction of his and hers bathrooms, each featuring separate entrances to a shared shower, enhancing both convenience and privacy. The previous gym area was ingeniously reconfigured into a spacious walk-in closet, providing ample storage while maintaining the luxurious feel of the space. To achieve the desired Tuscan ambiance, a substantial amount of stain-grade wood trim was incorporated throughout the remodel, creating a cohesive design that emphasizes craftsmanship and attention to detail. In sourcing materials for this project, we were fortunate to salvage large American Elm trees, which were skillfully transformed into baseboards, casing, and crown moulding. The rich, natural tones of the wood add warmth and character, complementing the textured wall finishes and enhancing the overall design. The combination of these elements has resulted in a stunning and functional space that reflects the clients' vision while offering comfort and style. The project was completed in Los Altos, CA, with a budget ranging from $200,001 to $500,000, showcasing our dedication to quality craftsmanship and innovative design solutions. The Los Altos Remodel not only fulfills the homeowners' dreams but also stands as a testament to our commitment to excellence in home improvement and construction.
