About This Project

Information: 'Two', Kane Brothers, Inc. Kane Brothers, Inc. is excited to present 'Two', an extensive landscaping that changed outdoor living in the heart of Downers Grove. This massive involved executing the client's desires of having a relaxing backyard oasis and addressing the challenges that came with a sloping yard and drainage. To find a compromise between aesthetics and performance, we designed and built a multi-leveled patio system out of durable natural stone pavers that balance the aesthetic appeal with longevity and durability within the natural elements. This was highlighted by a stunning fire pit that is ringed by special seating. Now the client can have the family around a fire pit and enjoy great conversation and moments of relaxation outdoors. In addition to the hardscaping, we hand-picked a plethora of native plants that would encourage biodiversity but would also require little maintenance. The end result of ornamental grasses, perennial flowering plants, and smaller flowering bushes is a colorful canvas of plantings that will look unique every season. This also highlighted a new irrigation system that will be excellent in conserving water, while still addressing drainage issues from the previous landscape, and keeping a plant ring around the added patio. One of the bigger challenges was the natural stone retaining wall to control the slope of the yard, address the erosion issue, and still look natural. Our craftsmen did an exceptional job executing this feature to have a strong wall that flowed well with the design choice. To summarize the story, we created an absolutely breathtaking landscape that checks all the boxes of what the client wanted, and exceeded their expectations. The client was in tears when they stepped out into their new backyard to discover that the outdoor room had so much functionality and beauty. The family's experience and feelings showcase Kane Brothers, Inc.'s dedication to performance and expectations of exceptional quality, service and beauty, while encouraging nature to be a part of the space… To be 'Two'.
