About This Project

The Treadway Residence, originally constructed in 1900, was a classic colonial home that required a thoughtful renovation to enhance its functionality and aesthetic appeal. The outdated powder room and inefficient first floor layout hindered the flow of the space, while the old pine plank floors, though charming, lacked practicality for modern living. Additionally, the kitchen area felt disconnected from the beautifully manicured backyard, creating a sense of confinement instead of openness. Our design team embraced the challenge of transforming this historic home, ensuring that the rich heritage was preserved while introducing contemporary elements that invigorated the interiors. Upon entering the residence, guests are welcomed by a striking new barn door that serves as a focal point and a nod to the home's traditional roots. This door leads into the newly designed powder room, where reclaimed wood from the original flooring has been artfully repurposed as an accent wall, adding warmth and character to the space. The floor features an eye-catching pattern that contrasts elegantly with an over-neutral palette, enhancing the room's overall ambiance and inviting a sense of style. Transitioning into the kitchen, the redesign prioritizes an unobstructed view of the backyard, allowing natural light to pour in and creating a seamless connection with the outdoor space. The layout has been meticulously reworked to promote efficient movement and functionality, catering to both everyday cooking and entertaining needs.
