Summary: Rain or Shine Landscapes Recently, Rain or Shine Landscapes Inc. finished an amazing transformation of a residential yard in Apex, North Carolina, which highlighted our commitment to quality and design for the homeowner's intentions. Appropriately d 'Rain or Shine Landscapes' the used all types of quality built landscaping elements, which both worked well with the neighbor home & backyard and also helped to add curb appeal to the client's home. The started with an in-depth consultation, where we established that the homeowner wanted a low-maintenance garden that looked good. Our team created a multi-layered landscape which included native plants, drought-tolerant perennials, and seasonal color through annuals that was suitable for North Carolina weather patterns. We introduced stone walkways with flagstone sourced locally within the state, providing access to the yard and signifying rustic elegance. The biggest challenge that we overcame was the slope of the property. This issue involved terracing the planting beds with natural boulders throughout the yard, which provided a nice design feature but also stopped soil movement and pattered wall and boulders. We also implemented drainage techniques to be used across the yard, allowing for water to flow easily, in excess, and for plants to thrive through excessive rainfall. The process finished with an outdoor living area, which was designed and built with a fire pit and seating zone, and could be used year-round. By including indigenous materials and native plants for landscaping, we not only increased the sustainability by reducing the amount of water used in the landscape, but we also attracted native wildlife, which contributes to the ecosystem. The client was a little surprised and left with the impression of having a holiday backyard oasis, great for relaxing and entertaining guests.
