Mediterranean Residence by Glenn Cox Landscaping Located in the center of Houston, the Mediterranean Residence showcases the design and engineering work of Glenn Cox Landscaping. This beautiful outdoor transformation is a true representation of Mediterranean design which incorporates elements of beauty and a functional outdoor living area. The features thousands of square feet of landscaping elements that include beautiful drought-resistant plantings, reminiscent of the sun-drenched landscapes of Southern Europe. Traditional olive trees, lavender, and bougainvillea were the varieties used to create year-round color, established to be beauty through resilience. The natural stone walks were painstakingly laid by hand, along which guests are able to stroll throughout the garden, taking in the peaceful courtyard, with a custom water fountain - the centerpiece of the tranquil garden. Part of the design challenges for this was the heavy drainage issues, which had the potential to prevent the newly planted flora from thriving. Glenn's team engineered a site-wide drainage system that allows water to flow from the residence promoting growth of the surrounding flora instead of growth disallowing flora. As it turns out, this design and database dealing with drainage can be monumental to restoring drainage systems, while improving the landscaping. The is simply fabulous. The palette of color, texture, and form brings the Mediterranean concept to life and allows the homeowners a true getaway from the city. It is obvious the meticulous attention to detail and the high quality fabrication used for the generates quality. Glenn Cox has left the clients absolutely in love with their outdoor haven. The transformation from functional outdoor space to magnificent Mediterranean landscape design is a testament to the and improvements made from careful thought and responsive landscaping, that enhances not only the aesthetics of the residence but its value as well.
