The Modern Lake House project in Beckley, WV, epitomizes a harmonious blend of comfort and contemporary design, tailored specifically to create a welcoming retreat for guests and a vibrant space for leisure activities. Spanning 1,800 square feet, this guest house features three bedrooms and three bathrooms, expertly designed to capture the essence of lakeside living while incorporating modern aesthetics. The design approach prioritized an inviting atmosphere, achieved through the use of oversized furniture that promotes relaxation and social interaction. To enhance the connection with the surrounding landscape, large pocket doors were strategically installed, allowing for unobstructed views of the lake while seamlessly integrating the indoor and outdoor environments. The color palette was carefully selected to reflect the natural tones of the outdoors, moving away from the dated French country florals of the main house. Warm, earthy hues were utilized throughout the space, ensuring a cohesive aesthetic that resonates with the client’s vision. The craftsmanship in the Modern Lake House is evident in the custom millwork and furnishings, which were designed to provide both functionality and style. The tongue and groove wood ceilings contribute to the rustic charm, enhancing the overall warmth of the interi. Particular attention was paid to each bathroom, with one standout feature being the rustic, masculine design of the master bathroom. It boasts rich wood cabinets paired with luxurious Patagonia quartz countertops, creating a striking yet serene environment perfect for a bachelor’s retreat.
