Contemporary Art Deco Apartment in the Upper West Side

The Modern Art Deco Upper West Side Apartment project was a transformative endeavor that blended our clients' vibrant personalities with their academic pursuits, creating a harmonious living space in one of New York City's most iconic neighborhoods. After relocating from rural New Jersey, the clients sought to infuse their new home with elements of fun and sophistication, starting with a stunning grand piano and an impressive collection of artwork that served as inspiration throughout the design process. In the Master Bedroom, we crafted a serene retreat characterized by neutral yet textural elements. The space showcases custom built-ins, luxurious linens, and a beautifully curated rug, ensuring a balance of comfort and elegance. Every detail was meticulously considered, from the ornate upholstered headboard to the selection of pinch-pleat curtains that frame the windows, inviting natural light while maintaining privacy. The room is further enhanced by a scenic landscape wallpaper that adds depth and a touch of nature, seamlessly integrating with the deep green accent wall which adds a modern flair to the classic Art Deco style. The Office, affectionately dubbed “The Green Room,” was designed to serve dual purposes—functioning as both a guest bedroom and an intellectual workspace. With a large collection of books prominently displayed, we aimed to create an atmosphere that inspires creativity and focus. The design choices made in this room reflect a thoughtful approach to functionality while ensuring it remains an inviting and stylish space for both work and relaxation. The Living Area serves as a neutral canvas, allowing the vibrant artwork and distinctive furnishings to take center stage. This intentional design choice showcases our clients’ personality while providing a sophisticated backdrop for entertaining guests. The successful integration of contemporary and Art Deco elements throughout the apartment is a testament to the craftsmanship and attention to detail that defines this project, culminating in a space that is both stylish and deeply personal—a true reflection of our clients’ lives and aspirations.
