Collaborations with MF Landscapes In an exciting partnership with MF Landscapes, STUDIOPLAATS | Landscape Design has transformed a unique outdoor space into a stunning sanctuary in the heart of Fort Collins. This , designed for a reflective client, exemplifies the best of our landscaping capabilities with the right combination of function and beauty. Our design process started with a thorough analysis of the challenges presented by the site, including uneven grade and limited sun. Through aesthetic grading and creative planting techniques, we were prepared to make the best of a challenging site to ensure thriving greenery throughout the seasons. The included an excellent assortment of native plantings that are capable of sustaining in climate conditions. We utilized top quality materials, including natural stone pathways and responsibly sourced & milled wood, for leisurely spaces to accommodate outdoor living. The scope of work also included a custom fire pit area surrounded by rich plantings, offering communal spaces with warmth for evening gatherings. Water management was a challenge of equal consideration. We introduced a fully-functional and efficient irrigation system to maintain the lushness of the landscape without waste. Our team worked to overcome the challenge of balance in our space, using drought-tolerant plant species instead of managed irrigation when climate conditions permitted to reduce labor on the landscape. Our efforts translated into a successful landscape that met our client’s needs and met the character of the neighborhood surrounding them. During the final reveal, we were met with excitement and satisfaction as our client expressed how they now had a green outdoor space where they could enjoy a moment retreat that matched their vision and use of it.
