Function Meets Farmhouse is a transformative bathroom renovation project located in Edmond, OK, completed in 2021. The project centered around the client's specific goals to create a space that accommodated her evolving needs while reflecting the charm of farmhouse aesthetics. A key feature of the renovation was the installation of a roll-in shower designed for accessibility, alongside an ADA-compliant vanity that ensured functionality without compromising style. This project was executed in two phases, strategically planned to minimize disruption to the homeowners. During Phase I, the focus was on constructing the shower and executing intricate tile work. The shower design included a spacious layout that not only met accessibility guidelines but also incorporated beautiful tile selections that enhanced the farmhouse appeal. Phase II saw the completion of the custom vanity and storage unit, crafted to align with the client’s vision. The vanity showcased a lowered countertop height on one end, ensuring ease of access, while a roll-under countertop discreetly tucked behind cabinet doors provided additional convenience. The design choices made throughout the project emphasized both functionality and aesthetic appeal. The use of two-toned cabinetry added depth and visual interest to the large storage unit. Complementing the cabinetry, white vessel sinks provided a striking contrast against the dark granite countertop and linear stone backsplash, creating a modern yet timeless look. Another unique aspect of the design was the barn door, which offered versatile functionality by sliding to cover either the closet or shower entrance, effectively managing privacy and steam retention. The culmination of these thoughtful design elements resulted in a customized bathroom that maximized space, function, mobility, and design, perfectly marrying practicality with the desired farmhouse charm. The successful execution of this project not only fulfilled the client’s specific needs but also provided a beautiful, welcoming environment for years to come.
