About This Project

The Mayapple project in Raleigh, NC, exemplifies a harmonious blend of functionality and aesthetic appeal, tailored to meet the desires of our clients who cherish their vibrant neighborhood. The primary objective was to enhance the home's design while maximizing its functionality, which led to a thoughtful reconfiguration of key spaces. Central to this transformation was the creation of a mudroom entrance off the garage, effectively establishing a dedicated area for organization and storage. This new entryway not only serves as a practical transition zone but also enhances the overall flow of the home. To further address the need for storage, we incorporated a spacious walk-in pantry, strategically positioned to allow for easy access from both the kitchen and dining areas. The pantry is designed with custom shelving and cabinetry, ensuring that it complements the overall aesthetic of the home while providing ample space for kitchen essentials. The heart of the transformation was the kitchen and living area, where we removed a wall to create an open-concept layout that fosters connection and interaction. This decision not only brightened the space by allowing more natural light to flow through but also enhanced the visual connection between the kitchen and living areas. Reconfiguring some windows added to the charm, ensuring that the spaces feel airy and inviting. Craftsmanship was paramount throughout the project. We utilized medium-tone wood flooring, adding warmth and sophistication to the transitional design. The wainscoting in the entryway provides a classic touch, harmonizing beautifully with the white walls and front door, which serve as a crisp backdrop to the rich wood tones. The outcome is a cohesive design that reflects our clients’ personal style while providing a highly functional living environment. The Mayapple project stands as a testament to effective design and thoughtful execution, resulting in a home that truly feels like theirs.
