The East Coast International Headquarters project involved the extensive renovation of a historic mansion in Washington, DC, designated as the International Headquarters for Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated. This large-scale undertaking was driven by a commitment to preserving the rich historical details and cultural significance of the structure, which serves as an important landmark for the African-American community. The challenge was to successfully blend the building's original character with contemporary functionality, ensuring that the essence of the sorority's heritage was respected throughout the renovation. Throughout the project, meticulous attention was paid to the historic finishes and architectural details that define the mansion's exteri. Our design philosophy embraced the original fabric of the building, allowing us to incorporate complementary historic detailing within the interior spaces. This approach not only honors the mansion's past but also aligns with its new role as a national headquarters, providing a welcoming and functional environment for sorority members and visitors alike.
