About This Project

The Scott Gate Ct. project involved a transformative renovation of a spacious home in South Charlotte, addressing the challenge of a kitchen that felt cramped and lacked functionality. The original layout featured an apartment-sized kitchen separated from an unused dining room by a load-bearing wall, which not only impeded flow but also limited natural light. Recognizing the potential for a more open and inviting space, our design team proposed the removal of this wall, paving the way for a reimagined kitchen that maximizes both space and light. The project was executed during the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020, highlighting our team's commitment to safety and efficiency while navigating the challenges of the pandemic. By opening up the kitchen, we created a large eat-in peninsula that serves as a central gathering point for family and friends. This design choice not only enhances the kitchen's functionality but also provides additional storage solutions, addressing a common concern in many homes. To further elevate the space, we opted for cabinetry that extends to the ceiling, effectively utilizing vertical space and providing ample storage for kitchen essentials. The selection of materials was carefully curated to blend modern aesthetics with traditional charm, ensuring that the kitchen complements the overall design of the home. The incorporation of natural light through the newly opened layout has dramatically transformed the ambiance, making the kitchen feel warm and inviting. The craftsmanship displayed in this project reflects our dedication to quality and attention to detail.
