The "Touches of Traditional" project in Saint Charles, Missouri, has transformed an ordinary kitchen space into a stunning culinary haven that seamlessly blends modern functionality with classic charm. The centerpiece of this renovation is a custom-made hood, finished with a soft glaze that elevates the room’s height and adds an air of sophistication. The kitchen layout was thoughtfully reconfigured to integrate a full-depth refrigerator, strategically positioned closer to the 36” industrial range, enhancing both the aesthetic and practical aspects of the cooking area. A significant change involved the removal of the outdated microwave and single wall oven, making way for a sleek microwave drawer that maintains a clean line across the cabinetry. The wall was opened up to introduce elegant glass cabinets, which house a beverage center and are complemented by a full-height backsplash, creating a cohesive design that draws the eye. This thoughtful addition not only adds visual interest but also maximizes storage solutions in the kitchen. In addressing the previous layout, the inconvenient walk-in pantry and awkward laundry room entrance were eliminated to make room for eight feet of 24” deep storage equipped with roll-out trays, perfect for organizing food, large appliances, and various kitchen essentials. This feature enhances accessibility and streamlines kitchen tasks, ensuring everything is within easy reach. The island's design showcases legs that elegantly conceal stools, giving it a refined, furniture-like appearance that invites gatherings. The craftsmanship involved in every detail—from the choice of materials to the meticulous finishing touches—ensures a complete and harmonious look throughout the kitchen. The result is a beautifully functional space that is both welcoming and practical, embodying the essence of traditional design while meeting modern needs. This project exemplifies how thoughtful design choices can elevate a home’s heart, making it a joy for cooking, entertaining, and family life.
