About This Project

Island Cove at Lake Austin is a stunning example of a complete transformation, resulting from a comprehensive gut renovation of an expansive 8,000 square foot residence nestled along the picturesque shores of Lake Austin. Our clients were captivated by the location and panoramic views, yet found that the original home design did not reflect their personal style or functional needs. Thus, we embarked on a design journey focused on maximizing the lake views while showcasing their eclectic and exquisite art collection. Throughout the renovation, we prioritized open spaces and natural light. The kitchen was strategically relocated, allowing for a seamless flow between the cooking area and the dining space, which was re-centered to enhance the visual connection to the lake. Expansive punched windows were introduced, inviting the breathtaking outdoors in and creating a harmonious relationship between the interior and the stunning landscape. Understanding our clients' passion for entertaining, we incorporated a butler’s kitchen, which serves as a discreet yet accessible space for food preparation and storage. This design choice not only facilitates large gatherings but also ensures that the main kitchen remains aesthetically pleasing and unobtrusive during events. Additionally, recognizing the increasing need for functional workspaces at home, we designed offices that are not only visually appealing but also strategically positioned to enjoy the serene views, promoting a productive and inspiring work environment. The materials selected throughout the renovation reflect a contemporary aesthetic while maintaining a warm and inviting atmosphere.
