The Fulton Neighborhood Residence stands as a testament to the seamless collaboration between Alka Construction and Rush Dixon Architects, exemplifying the ethos of “unique modern living” that defines the Fulton Neighborhood. Initiated in 2018, this project was driven by a shared vision to create a “Lowcountry Modern” aesthetic that is not only visually striking but also harmonizes with its surroundings in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. Upon the homeowner's acquisition of the property, we had the opportunity to tailor the design to reflect their personal priorities and preferences, ensuring that each element of the residence resonates with their lifestyle. This residence showcases a thoughtful integration of contemporary design principles with local architectural traditions. The exterior features a blend of natural materials, including weathered wood and stone, that pay homage to the Lowcountry’s rich heritage while providing durability against the coastal climate. Large, strategically placed windows invite abundant natural light and offer expansive views of the lush landscape, creating a sense of openness and connection to the outdoors. Inside, the design focuses on creating inviting spaces that encourage both relaxation and social interaction. The contemporary dining room exemplifies this approach, featuring clean lines and a minimalist aesthetic that enhances the overall elegance of the home. High-quality finishes, such as custom cabinetry and artisan-crafted fixtures, were selected to elevate the interior spaces, ensuring that every detail reflects superior craftsmanship.
