The transformation of a fish shack into a charming farmhouse on the picturesque May River in Bluffton, South Carolina, stands as a testament to expert craftsmanship and thoughtful design. The project commenced with a critical focus on the subfloor, which required extensive self-leveling to prepare for the installation of solid wood floors. The initial phase involved First Nix installers diligently grinding the existing concrete for two days to eliminate old epoxy, ensuring a clean and stable foundation for the new flooring. Before the application of the self-leveler, the concrete surface mandated a thorough sealing process. This crucial step was essential to achieving optimal adhesion and durability of the self-leveling compound. Following the preparation, a total of 25 bags of Schönox self-leveler were meticulously poured, resulting in a perfectly smooth and even surface, ready to support the new wood flooring. The selection of materials was integral to the farmhouse's aesthetic appeal. Solid wood floors were chosen for their timeless beauty and durability, complementing the rustic charm of the transformed space.
