The Small Space Kitchen Renovation project in a charming 1940s home in Dayton, Ohio, presented a unique set of challenges, yet the transformation achieved through meticulous planning and skilled craftsmanship has resulted in a stunning and functional culinary space. This renovation focused on optimizing the limited square footage while seamlessly blending contemporary design elements with the home's vintage charm. The first step involved addressing the multiple layers of flooring that had accumulated over the decades. Removing these layers was essential to create a solid foundation for the new tile flooring, ensuring durability and a clean aesthetic. The chosen flooring is a creamy gray porcelain tile, measuring 12” x 24”, which not only enhances the visual space but also offers practicality and ease of maintenance. Careful space planning was crucial in this small kitchen, leading to the selection of beautiful green-gray painted cabinetry that adds a soothing touch and maximizes storage.
