About This Project

Kiersten and Nick's Expanded Kitchen project is a stunning transformation that redefines their home’s culinary space. The original kitchen, while decent in size, felt cramped and disconnected from the overall warmth of the home. With the presence of a peninsula and soffits, the area appeared even smaller, hampering both functionality and aesthetic appeal. To create a kitchen that truly embodies the spirit of family gatherings and culinary creativity, we undertook a significant redesign that involved relocating a large laundry room to the second flo. This strategic move not only expanded the kitchen but also increased the overall efficiency of the home. The redesigned kitchen now features a spacious layout that incorporates a large island, perfect for entertaining and providing a gathering spot for family and friends. The island serves as the heart of the kitchen, allowing guests to engage with the cooking process while still having ample space for preparation and dining. The choice of materials was intentional and expressive, with a coastal theme reflected in the design. Recessed-panel cabinets in a crisp white finish complement the elegant quartz countertops, while the gray ceramic backsplash adds a sophisticated touch. Equipped with high-end Sub-Zero and Dacor appliances, the kitchen is as functional as it is beautiful, catering to the homeowner's passion for cooking. The farmhouse sink enhances the beach-style aesthetic, seamlessly integrating with the overall design. The use of durable vinyl flooring not only provides practical benefits but also ties the room together, creating a cohesive look that is both inviting and stylish.
