Synopsis: Repairing a Retaining Wall and Installing Drain Tile / French Drain A+ Equipment Services and Excavation finished a landscaping in the beautiful community of Perrysburg that changed the functionality and beauty of the client's yard. The work involved repairing an existing retaining wall to prevent soil erosion and water runoff, and installing drain tile and a French drain. The original retaining wall, made of old, weathered concrete blocks, was starting to fall apart from moisture exposure and lack of drainage. Our managers took some of the blocks apart, and then rebuilt a new wall using reinforced models, with added support of natural stone, to match the current landscape. The slope of the site was a significant obstacle for the , as proper grading was needed to shift the water away properly. Our crews used advanced excavation equipment to build a strong foundation under the retaining wall as well as the drainage systems. The French drain system, constructed of perforated piping and gravel backfill, was installed to move and direct water away from the foundation of the home and prevent future puddling on the lawn. The end results of this were incredible. The retaining wall offered strong support for structural stabilization, as well as a nice aesthetic to the landscape framing the garden area. The drainage system completed the design by moving the water efficiently away from the home as desired, so that our client never had a worry flooding or soil erosion again.
