The Long Narrow Condo in Washington, DC, presents an innovative approach to maximizing the functionality of an open floor plan while maintaining a sense of intimacy and comfort. The original layout posed challenges in furniture arrangement, prompting a thoughtful design strategy that emphasizes creating distinct "moments" within the expansive space. By strategically positioning the dining area in the window alcove at the front entry, we not only enhanced the visual appeal but also provided an ideal work-from-home solution. This placement invites natural light, making the dining experience more enjoyable and allowing for a seamless transition into the living area. The living room is thoughtfully nestled into a cozy nook, which flows effortlessly into the breakfast bar and the kitchen, featuring a functional peninsula. The black stools introduce a striking contrast, effectively delineating the kitchen space from the living area while adding a modern touch to the overall aesthetic. This design choice fosters an open yet defined environment where each area serves its purpose without feeling cluttered or overwhelming. The color palette, dominated by soothing blue and grey tones, enhances the airy ambiance of the condo.
