About This Project

The Lindsay Ave. project involved a comprehensive remodel of a guest house, transforming both the kitchen and bathroom into elegant, functional spaces that blend modern design with practical features. In the kitchen, the outdated cabinet doors and drawer faces were replaced with new shaker-style options, providing a timeless aesthetic. We enhanced the functionality of the cabinetry by installing soft-close European-style hinges and drawer slides, ensuring a smooth and quiet operation. The removal of the old lower cabinets, which were connected to a structural beam, allowed us to introduce a custom-built island. This new island is designed with increased depth for ample storage while maintaining a seamless transition space between the island and the existing column, ultimately enhancing the flow of the kitchen. The bathroom underwent a striking transformation as well. The original cast iron tub was replaced with a custom shower, featuring an infinity niche that elegantly showcases quartz accents matching the vanity countertops. This design choice not only elevates the visual appeal but also maximizes the usability of the space. The shower's sleek lines and luxurious materials create a spa-like atmosphere, inviting relaxation and comfort. The flooring throughout the guest house was revamped to suit the pier and beam foundation. We raised the floors and installed an uncoupling membrane, which is essential for durability and moisture management. To complete the look, we selected Saltillo tile from Floor and Decor, adding warmth and character to the space with its rich colors and textures. The overall outcome of the Lindsay Ave. remodel is a beautifully cohesive guest house that marries style and functionality, perfect for modern living while retaining its charm. This project not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of the home but also significantly increases its value, making it a worthwhile investment for any homeowner.
