The Cheerful Refacing in Ash White project transformed a traditional kitchen in Sun Prairie, enhancing both its aesthetic appeal and functionality. The primary focus was on cabinet refacing, where the existing cherry raised panel doors were meticulously stained in a soft ash white hue. This change not only lightened the overall ambiance of the kitchen but also created an illusion of increased space and openness, making it a more inviting area for family gatherings and culinary creativity. In addition to the visual upgrade, significant improvements were made to the kitchen’s efficiency and usability. New drawer boxes and slides were installed, ensuring smooth operation and easy access to kitchen essentials. The inclusion of roll-out trays and a tray pullout further optimized storage, allowing for better organization of cookware and utensils. A Lazy Susan with full-extension pullouts was added, providing versatile storage solutions in corner cabinets, which often pose challenges in traditional kitchen layouts. The craftsmanship involved in this project was exemplified by the choice of Satin Nickel Jeffrey Alexander Richard decorative hardware, which not only complements the ash white cabinetry but also adds a touch of elegance to the overall design. Soft close hinges and slides were incorporated, ensuring that cabinet doors and drawers close gently, reducing wear and tear while enhancing the kitchen's functionality. To complete the traditional aesthetic, colonial crown molding was thoughtfully applied, adding a distinguished finishing touch that ties the entire design together. This project, initiated in 2023 with a budget ranging from $25,001 to $50,000, successfully married style and practicality, resulting in a cheerful and refreshed kitchen environment. The combination of thoughtful design choices, high-quality materials, and skilled craftsmanship culminated in a space that is not only beautiful but also highly functional, making it an ideal setting for both everyday living and special occasions.
