About This Project

The Under-Staircase Wine Vault project in Shavano Park, TX, transformed an under-utilized closet into a stunning and functional wine storage area that perfectly aligns with the client’s vision. The design process began with the strategic use of rock veneer on the entry wall, creating a rustic yet sophisticated ambiance that invites guests into the space. To enhance the charm, pieces of the same veneer were artfully incorporated into the curved wall, seamlessly blending with the overall aesthetic. The application of foam and lightweight plaster, coupled with faux finishing techniques, successfully mimicked the appearance of a vintage wall, adding layers of character to this unique wine vault. Internally, meticulous attention was paid to the design of the wine storage solution, with beautifully crafted wine cubicles and shelves installed to accommodate the client's collection. Each cubicle was designed with precision to ensure both functionality and elegance, allowing for easy access while showcasing the bottles aesthetically. A state-of-the-art climate-controlled cooling system was integrated to maintain optimal conditions for wine storage, ensuring that every bottle is preserved at its finest. The vault is further enhanced by a striking glass and iron door, which not only serves as a sturdy entry point but also adds an elegant touch, making the wine vault a focal point in the home. The heavy wooden beams incorporated into the design provide a sense of warmth and richness, grounding the space and complementing the vintage theme. A personalized plaque was thoughtfully added, further customizing the vault and making it a true reflection of the homeowner's style. This project exemplifies exceptional craftsmanship and design, resulting in an under-staircase space that is both functional and visually captivating, ensuring that the client’s dream of having a wine vault in their home is now a reality.
