About This Project

After decades of dedicated restoration of their cherished brick home in upstate New York, our clients sought a right-sized sanctuary for their retirement. They discovered an ideal location just next door, acquiring a smaller house that, though overrun with vines and in dire need of renovation, boasted the perfect dimensions and picturesque setting for their next chapter. Our design approach focused on crafting spaces that not only reflected their lifestyle but also celebrated their profound appreciation for nature. The transformation began with the creation of a stunning great room addition, envisioned as the heart of the home. This expansive space features large windows that frame breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape, seamlessly blending indoor and outdoor living. The great room invites natural light to flood in, allowing our clients to relish the beauty of each season from the comfort of their new home. Understanding our clients’ passion for gardening, we integrated a dedicated greenhouse, providing a nurturing environment for their botanical pursuits. This greenhouse is conveniently accessed from a reimagined mudroom, which was ingeniously crafted by repurposing one of the three garage bays. The mudroom now serves as a functional and welcoming entry point, complete with a thoughtfully designed powder room and laundry area, enhancing the overall usability of the space. Throughout the renovation, we prioritized high-quality materials and expert craftsmanship to ensure durability and aesthetic appeal. The result is a harmonious blend of modern comforts and classic charm, perfectly suited for retirement living. This downsized home not only meets the practical needs of our clients but also enriches their lifestyle, allowing them to fully embrace the joys of nature and community in Randolph, Vermont. The completion of this project signifies a new beginning, where every detail resonates with warmth, functionality, and elegance.
