Local materials were used to construct natural stone retaining walls, which not only provide structural support, but also enhance the rustic aspect of the overall design. Beyond the gardens, we also included pragmatic pieces like a built-in vegetable patch, with raised beds and an irrigation system. In addition to supplying the client with contemporary produce, this feature also makes for an attractive centrepiece within the landscape. The winding gravel trail, bordered with decorative boulders and shrubs requiring little care, provides access to the space but also calls people in for a wander on the property. Ambient outdoor lighting was the only installation that ran out of money, but it emphasizes major elements and stage space, setting the tone for a magical evening experience. This resulted in beautiful transformation that satisfied the customer with a peaceful place that mirrors both their passion for nature but also sustainable living.
