The Parkview Galley Kitchen project in San Bruno, CA, showcases a remarkable transformation of a cozy sage green kitchen, bringing together innovative design, enhanced functionality, and aesthetic appeal. The homeowners expressed a desire for improved lighting, increased storage, expanded countertop space, and a more efficient flow within the kitchen. Our team meticulously addressed each of these needs, resulting in a space that is not only beautiful but also highly functional. To brighten the kitchen, we installed recessed lighting in the ceiling along with a stylish pendant light above the sink, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. We chose lighter colors for the cabinetry, backsplash, and countertops, effectively enhancing the overall brightness of the space. The new engineered quartz countertops not only provide a stunning visual element but also ensure easy maintenance, eliminating the hassle of grout lines. Recognizing the importance of storage, we incorporated a tall pantry with pull-out shelves that significantly improved food organization. Additionally, we added 15 linear feet of base storage under the banquette seating, maximizing storage capabilities without compromising on space. By designating food storage in the pantry, we cleared ample countertop space for meal preparation, making the kitchen more efficient for daily use. One of the common issues faced by the homeowners was the refrigerator door conflicting with the wall, which we resolved by strategically placing the pantry between the refrigerator and the return wall. This adjustment allows for full access to the refrigerator, enhancing usability. We also removed a small peninsula that interrupted the kitchen's flow, effectively making the area feel larger and more open. Finally, to elevate the kitchen's functionality further, we added a mini beverage fridge, providing a dedicated space for drinks and adding value to the overall design. The Parkview Galley Kitchen is now a harmonized blend of style and efficiency, perfectly tailored to the homeowners' lifestyle and expectations.
