About This Project

The Cheeky wallpaper powder/laundry room project in Baltimore, MD, is a stunning testament to thoughtful design and innovative craftsmanship. Originally a large, divided space that had been repurposed into a powder room and storage area, our team was tasked with restoring this semicircular addition to its former glory while enhancing its functionality. Through a collaborative design process, we embraced the unique challenges presented by the layout and envisioned a space that is not only practical but also whimsical. The design choices reflect a careful balance of elegance and playfulness, beginning with the selection of striking whimsical wallpaper that serves as the focal point of the room. This vibrant choice infuses personality into the space, while the custom cabinetry offers ample storage, seamlessly integrating utility with style. The original hardwood floors were preserved and refinished, providing warmth and continuity, while the new tin ceiling adds a touch of vintage charm, enhancing the overall aesthetic. In addition to these key elements, we incorporated modern farmhouse light fixtures that provide both illumination and character, ensuring the space feels inviting and bright. The wainscoting adds depth and texture to the walls, creating a refined look that complements the playful wallpaper. Custom arched doors with glass panels not only serve as functional entrances but also add architectural interest, allowing natural light to flow throughout the area. The installation of new casement windows further enhances the room's brightness and ventilation, making it a pleasant environment for daily use.
