About This Project

The Golden Hour Revival project transformed a historic 1928 colonial home into a modern sanctuary for a growing family, while carefully preserving its classic charm. The original first-floor layout presented significant challenges, particularly an inefficient kitchen and a centrally located powder bath that disrupted the natural flow of the space. Our objective was to reconfigure these areas, enhancing the functionality of the kitchen and elevating the dining room, all while maximizing the influx of natural light, particularly crucial for the family’s upcoming special event. To achieve this, we undertook a comprehensive redesign that involved removing non-load-bearing walls to create a more open floor plan. The kitchen was reimagined with a focus on both aesthetics and practicality. High-quality cabinetry, crafted from sustainable materials, was chosen to provide ample storage while complementing the home’s historical character. A large central island, topped with elegant quartz, serves as both a prep area and a gathering spot, fostering family interaction. The color palette was carefully curated to reflect the soft, warm tones of the setting sun, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere. The dining room was elevated not just in stature but in experience. Custom lighting fixtures were installed to enhance the natural beauty of the space, creating an inviting environment for family meals and entertaining. Large windows were strategically placed to flood the area with light, highlighting the craftsmanship of the hardwood floors that were restored to their original luster. The outcome of the Golden Hour Revival is a seamless blend of past and present, where functionality meets elegance. The first floor now serves as a cohesive living space that encourages family connection and provides an uplifting ambiance. This project not only met the design goals within a tight timeline but also exceeded the clients' expectations, ensuring their home became a cherished venue for future gatherings.
