In Denver’s vibrant Platt Park neighborhood, the Platt Park Pop-Top project successfully transforms a dated 1950s single-story bungalow into a warm and inviting modern two-story home. The design centers around a thoughtfully executed 1,300 sq. ft. second-story “pop-top” that elegantly extends the living space while maintaining the charm of the original structure. Accompanying this addition is a 300 sq. ft. rear expansion, which is instrumental in enhancing the home’s functionality and connectivity. The interior layout underwent significant reconfiguration, with selective wall removals on the main level to foster a more open and fluid flow between spaces. A new walk-in pantry was introduced, catering to the needs of modern living while maximizing storage solutions. The rear addition features a bright and airy family room, designed to serve as a communal gathering space that offers seamless access to the backyard, making it perfect for entertaining or family activities. The upper level boasts a spacious primary suite complete with a private en-suite bath, providing a serene retreat. Additionally, two well-sized bedrooms and a shared hallway bathroom ensure ample accommodation for family or guests. A conveniently located laundry room adds to the practicality of the design, making daily chores effortless. The exterior of the home is a striking blend of vertical wood cladding, board-and-batten siding, and painted brick, creating a warm modern aesthetic that resonates with the neighborhood's character. Large black-framed windows punctuate the façade, inviting generous natural light into the interiors while enhancing the visual appeal.
