Winding Ridge represents a remarkable transformation of a main level living space, executed with precision and an eye for modern aesthetics. Commencing in 2025, this project involved a comprehensive gut remodel that redefined the flow and functionality of the home. Central to the renovation was the strategic removal of a load-bearing wall, which opened up the space dramatically and necessitated the installation of a robust 28-foot steel I-beam. This structural enhancement not only ensured safety but also allowed for a seamless integration of the kitchen and living area, fostering a cohesive environment perfect for both entertaining and everyday living. The design choices made throughout the project reflect a transitional style, blending contemporary elements with classic touches. The kitchen was outfitted with custom cabinetry, offering ample storage while maintaining a sleek appearance. The choice of quartz countertops adds a touch of luxury, complemented beautifully by both subway and herringbone backsplash tiles that introduce visual interest and texture. The flooring, consisting of luxurious vinyl planks (LVP), was selected for its durability and ease of maintenance, all while providing the warmth and appeal of traditional wood. Lighting played a crucial role in accentuating the new design, with the installation of 42 recessed lights strategically placed throughout the space, along with under-cabinet lighting that highlights the kitchen features. This thoughtful approach to illumination enhances the overall ambiance, creating an inviting atmosphere that is both functional and stylish. A standout element of this remodel is the custom site-built, stained hickory beam box out, which adds character and craftsmanship, serving as a focal point that ties the entire room together.
