Our for the Hamblen landscape renovation exemplifies those values of high quality and customer satisfaction. This home, located in the heart of Kansas City, called for an entire landscape renovation. The client wanted a colorful and low-maintenance garden that would felt in harmony with their modern home and offered them an outdoor living area for family gatherings. The involved using a combination of native plants, perennial flowers, and ornamental grasses that would grow in the local climate. One of the complexities was a steep hillside at the back of the property that created drainage issues and limited usable outdoor space. Sutton completed the by creating a terraced garden with natural stone retaining walls using local limestone. The walls created the necessary structure and design of the landscape. The terracing created separate planting sections without losing design aesthetics while aiding with water runoff. In addition to the terraced beds, Sutton Outdoor, LLC included a meandering flagstone pathway to help lead the guests through the garden with separate sitting areas for enjoyment and relaxation. This pathway was made of quality local flagstone for longevity while providing a natural look and feel to the backyard landscape. Next to the seating areas Sutton added a fire pit with comfortable chairs for evenings with friends and family to enjoy. The fire pit was made from electric materials including a decorative hardscaping design to match the landscape. The result of this Hamblen landscape renovation is a beautiful retreat with beauty and function combined. The homeowner was excited the transformation and stated they could use the retreat as a social space for family and friends. It is a great example of our work with quality craftsmanship and beauty.
