Wingspread By: Ernst Land Design, Inc. Beautifully situated on the shores of Nantucket, the ‘Wingspread’ is a collaboration with Ernst Land Design, Inc. This extensive landscaping turned an average property into a stunning coastal escape that embraces the beautiful nature surrounding it. Theres nothing but the beauty of native plantings in strategy of garden design to attract more biodiversity. Beach grass, hydrangeas, and ornamental grasses are species specifically chosen to ensure 12 months of coastal beauty as well as minimal maintenance. The team used local stone for the terraces and steps and incorporated hardscaping with soft landscaping for visual continuity around the property. The ears faced placement of the bottom up rig consisted of a battered excavated face on a slopes site, with drainage issues that threatened the installed landscape. Ernst Land Design, Inc. provided creative design solutions and a strategic and sensitive grading plan that incorporated a new drain system which captures water runoff and gurantees the garden and its features will last for many years. The result of the Wingspread is simply amazing. They designed a serene outdoor living area featuring a custom fire pit surrounded by lush plantings, perusing seating nooks and ocean views. An ambient lighting system made this space beguiling; transforming it from day use into night use. With sunlight flooding the interior and stunning ocean views, the clients are happy with their escape, which now serves as the ideal family gathering place and quiet sanctuary, a sanctuary that reflects their love of the island landscape. Wingspreadis another testament to the high-quality craftsmanship and innovative landscaping solutions offered by Design, Inc., which should be a proud addition to Nantucket.
