This was a comprehensive renovation of a residential property into an outdoor space that seamlessly combines livability and beauty. The began with our team looking at the challenges of working with a sloped property. To improve accessibility and stop soil erosion, we built custom stone retaining walls made of locally-sourced granite, designed to fit with the property’s existing landscape. The walls secured the property from falling away, and also provided a more rustic appeal, showcasing our commitment to quality craftsmanship and attention to detail. To enliven the yard, we created a colorful flower bed in the middle of the garden with a variety of local native plants. We went with perennial species like coneflowers and black-eyed Susans, creating a landscape that offers a beautiful garden all year long while attracting local wildlife. We used a sustainable mulch option to provide visual interest and improve soil health and moisture retention. To enhance the space, we created a meandering path out of reclaimed brick for guests to get through the lush garden. The pathway both encouraged wandering and further added to rate that overall environmental footprint was reduced. Lighting was another key component of the job. We installed efficient, well-placed LED fixtures to light the pathways and draw focus to some of the features of the garden, creating a mood for enjoyable nighttime gatherings. The overall outcome of all our work was a stunning outdoor space that authentically represents the owners vision while increasing overall marketability for the home. The final result not only achieve the ultimate goal but also provided the owners with a beautiful yard that they can enjoy for years to come as a cozy place to unwind and have private gatherings.
