This was a sloped, narrow yard just off the heart of Lancaster County and to say it had its challenges would be an understatement, but that also meant a great opportunity to get creative. Working with the local landscape in the protection of this sensitive natural environment, our team put together a set of refined terraces in various natural materials including locally sourced stone, durable timbers and a variety of native vegetation. Aside from providing some impressive aesthetics, the terracing did wonders in solving a lot of the erosion issues that the property had been suffering from. We designed to add a smart drainage system, so that excess rainwater will be organised and safely redirected and the garden will be brilliantly intact for years to come. Highlighting the , this unique feature will provide seating areas made of custom-cut stone, offering a comfortable and pleasurable recreational bottleneck spaces. The terraces were given lush planting of perennials and flowering plants chosen to ensure a seasonal interest whilst also performing well in our local climate. We also added low-voltage landscape lighting to give the garden a warm glow in the evenings. The existing tree roots made the renovation process challenging and it could have flooded without proper water management. Yet our seasoned team used never-before-seen strategies to build up solutions and managed to communiquate with the client keeping them updated and involved through every step of the . The end result was a gorgeous terraced garden which increased the visual beauty of the property while also giving the home owners a peaceful place to enjoy in their time off.
