Summary: Hill Landscape and Hardscape Classic Stonescaping & Gardens is excited to share our latest , 'Hill Landscape and Hardscape,' a spectacular transformation that maximizes the natural beauty of the property while creating functional outdoor areas. Serving many different neighborhoods across Northern Virginia areas such as Fairfax County, Arlington, Alexandria, and beyond, we aimed to create a thoughtful balance of beauty and practicality. The process began with a thoughtful site review to determine the unique topography and drainage of the hill. Our team faced the challenge of a sloping grade that we successfully countered with tiered retaining walls made out of selected natural stone. Not only did this stabilize the hillside, but it also created beautiful tiers that encourage exploration. We utilized a variety of native plants for the landscape to promote low maintenance and sustainability, which included flowering perennials, ornamental grasses, and evergreen shrubs for year-round interest. An irrigation system was incorporated to promote healthy growth as well as conserves water. The hardscape included a beautiful flagstone patio for family and friends to gather. Additionally, stone steps were constructed to facilitate a graceful ascent up the hill. These steps connect several places while providing an impressive view of the surrounding landscape. Our talented craftsmen maintained tremendous attention to detail to ensure that every stone was placed correctly, resulting in a beautiful integration of hardscape and softscape. At completion, the client was ecstatic with their transformation from challenging hill to beautiful, usable outdoor space. This enhanced their lifestyle and increased the value of their home.
