About This Project

Carlisle Center Park Carlisle Center Park, completed by Maria von Brincken Landscape Garden Design, supports the integration of horticulture and community space while serving as a lively central location for the busy town of Carlisle. This thoughtfully designed park occupies over two acres and includes gorgeous native plantings, winding paths, and friendly seating areas that are conducive to visiting and relaxing. The 's aim was to integrate sustainable landscape practices through drought resistance plants that prefer the local climate. The design employed a diverse plant palette of ornamental grasses, colorful perennials, and flowering shrubs. These plants worked together to beautify the park and provide habitat for native pollinators. Pathways and seating areas were constructed using high quality natural stone materials to ensure durability and provide a natural looking area that complimented the surroundings. One of the significant challenges of the park was addressing the park's drainage problems that previously caused it to become waterlogged and caused erosion. Our team was able to use creative grading and provide a high level bioswale system to properly manage stormwater which addressed the drainage issues, increased the site's ecological health, and enhanced the ability to utilize the park year-round. The final product included a lovely transformation that residents of Carlisle have enjoyed. The park included areas for children's play, picnic areas with built-in custom benches, and areas for meditation or contemplation. The park has provided a wonderful resource for the whole community to enjoy and has provided a sense of pride and connection to the town.
