The Bruce Renovation project transformed a dated kitchen into an inviting space perfect for both daily living and entertaining. The original design was characterized by heavy soffits and a closed-off peninsula, which restricted flow and created a cramped atmosphere. The homeowners expressed a desire for a more open floor plan, one that would enhance their social gatherings and allow for seamless interaction between cooking and entertaining areas. To achieve this vision, our team at Frey's Building and Remodeling undertook a comprehensive renovation that involved removing the cumbersome site-built pantry, soffits, and the peninsula. This strategic demolition not only opened up the space but also allowed natural light to flood the kitchen, creating a warm and welcoming environment. The new layout encourages fluid movement and interaction, making it ideal for entertaining guests or enjoying family meals. In terms of design, we opted for brushstroke glazed cabinetry that adds depth and texture, harmonizing beautifully with the crackle glazed subway tile backsplash. The brushed nickel fixtures complement the cabinetry and tile, adding a contemporary touch that is both stylish and functional.
