Backyard Waterfalls

Backyard Waterfalls by Universal Aquatics A wonderful transformation took place in a backyard in Atlanta with the called "Backyard Waterfalls" done by Universal Aquatics. Our clients live in Berkeley Lake, Buford, Conyers, and the all over Atlanta area. We transformed an ordinary backyard into a tranquil oasis and installed a beautiful waterfall feature that fit seamlessly into the existing natural landscape. We began the work with an in-depth site assessment to understand how to best work with the existing topography. Next, our landscape architects carefully selected the perfect locally supplied boulders and natural stone to build a multi-tiered waterfall with several cascading levels that ultimately trickled into a peaceful pond below. Not only were aesthetic qualities important, but we used natural products to assure an eco-friendly solution that further established the universal ideals behind everything we do at Universal Aquatics. Finally, we experienced a series of challenges related to site conditions. Unevenness of the site posed many problems and limited access for the very heavy machinery further challenged our design efforts. Given these hurdles our team mentors utilized their experience and training to innovatively find a solution to every obstacle in the design. We introduced native plantings to the surrounding landscape and other key areas to further enhance biodiversity AND wildlife habitat! The final perception of the space, incorporating multiple relaxing waterfall components, a sea of developed aquatic plants with soothing and calming ambient light at night (for magical evening views) far exceeded the expectations of our clients and for us at Universal Aquatics. There are unique sounds of falling water trickling and providing relaxing sounds that transformed the entire space into a wonderful oasis for the clients to enjoy every day of the week for every occasion possible.
