s We Like: A Landscape Design-Build Gallery By Bay Avenue Plant Company Located in the scenic beauty of Surf City and its surroundings, the Bay Avenue Plant Company , called 'Landscape Design-Build Gallery' , hits the right notes of blend of art, functionality, and sustainability. A massive landscaping turned a typical home yard into a gorgeous exterior living space that ensures interaction with the natural context. The design displays a pleasing combination of native plants, flowering perennials, and lush ornamental shrubs, selected for their effectiveness in the local climate, with interest throughout the seasons. Cascades of river rock lead guests through curated outdoor rooms that beckon sitting and wandering. In order to create a pleasing design we added custom stone retaining walls and boulders to give structure and flow to the landscape. We struggled a lot with the grading to maintain proper drainage since the topography of one of the sites was undulating. We had our very talented team hammering away with lots of natural elements (reclaimed wood for raised beds, for example) and each step to ensure sustainability was built into the design. We also adopted an efficient irrigation system that uses less water but keeps the landscape flowered and alive. The end result is an incredible oasis that fulfills the client's desire and is truly a showcase for the type of work Bay Avenue Plant Company does. Variety of textures, colors and the logical use of space have turned the property into a beautiful sample of landscaping artistry, one that has pleased the client while providing an aesthetic boost for the area of Surf City. This is an excellent example of how careful planning and execution can transform the outdoor spaces into a stimulating environment that promotes happiness and engagement with nature.
