Jane MacLeish Landscapes, a small, boutique design company, has been providing unique garden design solutions throughout the U.S. for over 35 years. JML specializes in garden designs that provide year-round color formulation and structural integrity. The depth of detail is the core strength of Jane’s gardens. During the design phase, Jane takes into consideration the shape of the garden’s structure and how plants flow and layer visually. In her own words, “Character is always more interesting than perfection.” In addition, Jane believes that the garden is never completely finished because it is continuously changing as plantings expand and mature. Her favorite gardens are ones that represent her clients’ personal styles, which is one of the reasons it is difficult to pin down a specific Jane MacLeish design style; every garden created by Jane MacLeish is an original artwork.

Our main coverage area for landscaping services is Washington, D.C. and we are proud to be a part of the area's busy outdoor environments. While our focus primarily remains within the District of Columbia, we may also take on projects outside of the District on a case by case basis depending on the size and location of the project.
