During her 10 years working with Quail Botanical Garden (now San Diego Botanical Garden), she was able to develop planting techniques using plants from all around the world. Africa, New Zealand, Australia, the Mediterranean and California are just a few of the places where she has learned to work with various plant types. The garden she worked on alone contained everything from subtropical fruit trees, bamboos, succulents, cycads to almost all types of perennial flowers. Jean has extensive knowledge regarding soils, soil amendments, light conditions, & irrigation.
