Landscaping pricing can be significantly different based on several factors. For example: the magnitude or size of your project will dictate pricing based on design complexity; the types of materials used and/or number of varieties of material required; and the types of landscaping design processes utilized (i.e. formal design process vs. informal/existing landscaping conditions). The first step in getting an estimate is to arrange for an in-house design consultation where the designer can discuss the client’s vision for the project. After this consultation, the design professional will prepare a detailed cost proposal for the entire project. This proposal may include costs associated with design, labour, material(s) and any other services (e.g. installation) necessary to complete the project. Most importantly, some landscape designs may seem simple; however, the location of the project, existing trees and bushes and other factors may affect the pricing. After completing both the initial consultation and site analysis, Preliminary Designs are created based on the information obtained from those stages and presented to the Client for Review and Comments. After receiving feedback from the Client on the Preliminary Designs, the Landscape Architect will finalize the design and prepare Detailed Plans including specifications for materials and plants. Upon finalizing the design, the Project enters into the Construction stage, during which the Contractor constructs the landscape according to the approved Detailed Plans. Throughout the entire course of the project, Continuous Communication should occur between the Landscape Architect and the Client, ensuring that they remain on the same page and that the project remains aligned with the Client's goals.
