Linda Rice is the owner and lead designer of Native Bloom Landscaping. Through years of experience and extensive training, Linda knows what works best when designing landscapes for the high desert of northern New Mexico. After earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, with a minor in Cultural Anthropology, from Kenyon College, she has been able to integrate the knowledge and experience gained from her education with an artist's understanding of composition, light, line, and sculptural aspects; the awareness of how one’s immediate environment plays a role in shaping the overall quality of life. Each year, she continues to build on her educational background by attending various educational workshops, and she is a certified permaculture designer from Ecoversity. In addition to her formal education, Native Bloom was born out of Linda's love for gardening in the Southwest. Linda has a wonderful and very talented teenage daughter, a horse named Lucky, a dog named Shine, and a flock of chickens who all happen to share the same name: Betty! In her spare time, Linda enjoys playing the mandolin and guitar. She spends winters skiing as well as hibernating.
