Description

Grow More Orchid Growth 30-10-10 is a water‑soluble fertilizer. It contains 30% nitrogen, 10% phosphorous and 10% potassium. It is also made with chelated micronutrients (iron, zinc, manganese, copper and molybdenum). The chelation can assist orchids in taking up nutrients more quickly and to remain available whether the pH of the water changes. However, this can vary between different orchid species.

How It Helps Orchids

Here’s why each ingredient is important and how the formula helps orchid health.

  • Nitrogen for Growth

It is important to green leaves and new roots. In this mixture, the high nitrogen content of the peat helps the orchids to promote strong, healthy foliage.

  • Phosphorus for Roots

Phosphorus is required for early growth and root formation and aids energy movement in the plant. With 10% phosphorus, it helps new roots develop quickly.

  • Potassium for Vigour

Potassium promotes the general plant tree force. It makes orchids more resistant to stress and disease. This results in stronger plants and improved water balance.

  • Chelated Micronutrients

The micronutrients, such as iron and zinc, are wrapped in chelates. This makes them soluble and much more accessible to orchids. These minute quantities are the vital components that make chlorophyll and enzymes.

Suitable Orchid Types

Grow More 30‑10‑10 is good for most orchid growing methods. Both epiphytic and terrestrial orchids will accommodate it.

1. Epiphytic Orchids

Epiphytes develop in bark or wood, on exposed roots. Famous examples include Cattleya, Vanda, and Dendrobium. This fertilizer feeds nutrients to those directly exposed roots. It promotes the development of roots and their attachment.

2. Terrestrial Orchids

These orchid plants will grow in mixes or gravel. An example of this would be some Paphiopedilum and some Cymbidium species. The water‑soluble solution moves down through the media, providing all roots access without salt buildup.

Feeding Schedule

Have a good feeding plan to keep orchids growing strong. Make sure to follow these tips while the season swings.

When to Feed

  • Season: February through September
  • Interval: Every 10–14 days

This feeding schedule replicates the natural growth cycle of the orchid in many of the temperate regions.

How to Mix

  • Measure: 1 teaspoon of fertilizer per 1 gallon of water
  • Pre‑Soak (if needed): Water the plant lightly a day before feeding if the mix is very dry.
  • Application: The mix is added to the upper pot, as it allows the water to drain into the lower pot.

Cymbidiums thrive on high constant 95% humidity all year round. Apply this formula to them only from February to September.

Expected Results

With regular use, this fertilizer helps to see visibly healthier plants.

  • Root Development: Orchids grow stronger roots with more root strands. Healthier roots take up water and nutrients more efficiently.
  • Leaf and Pseudobulb Growth: Leaves darken to a rich, green color and the pseudobulb becomes larger. Pseudobulbs in cymbidiums tend to plump out more, gathering extra water and nutrients.
  • Improved Stress Resistance: Well‑fed orchids resist fungi and environmental stress better. Strong plants heal up more quickly after being damaged.

Storage and Safety

Proper handling and storage help maintain the fertilizer’s quality and safety.

Storage Instructions

  • Store in a cool, dry place.
  • Tightly close the lid to keep moisture.

Safety Precautions

  • Protection: Gloves and eye protection while mixing.
  • Operation in well-ventilated areas: Avoid inhaling dust.

FAQs

Can It Be Used Year‑Round?

No. It’s intended for active growth from February to September. For bloom‑boosting during this time, use a fertilizer with higher phosphorus and potassium.

What If a Feeding Is Missed?

Occasionally missing a feeding will not cause harm. The normal schedule can be resumed at the next feeding.

Is It Safe for All Orchids?

Yes. Almost all orchids, epiphytes and lithophytes react positively. For sensitive species, it’s best to start with half strength until they adjust.
