  • Active Ingredient: The active ingredient in Fulcrum is pyriproxyfen, a type of insect growth regulator that interferes with the development of insects, ultimately reducing pest populations.
  • Safe for Plants: Fulcrum is formulated to be safe for plants when used as directed. It won't damage ornamental plants, flowers, shrubs or ground covers.
  • Easy Application: Use Fulcrum in 2 different ways: as a foliar spray or a drench. Both of them are easy to use and will get the product to the whole plant.

Description

OHP Fulcrum is a high-yielding insect growth regulator for use in greenhouses and nurseries. It is designed to control insects at all life stages, including their eggs, larvae and adults and contains 100% effective plant oils. This shields plants from insects such as aphids, mealybugs, and whiteflies, giving them a good appearance, including roses, flowers, shrubs, and non-bearing fruit and nut trees.

What Pests Does Fulcrum Control?

Fulcrum is aimed for  various common pests in greenhouses and nurseries:

  • Aphids: Tiny insects that extract plant sap and can transmit plant diseases.
  • Fungus Gnats: This is a common plant pest whose larvae eat the roots and can harm the plant.
  • Mealybugs: These insects also sap life by sucking on plants’ sap, leaving a sticky substance behind.
  • Whiteflies: Insects that fly and feed on sap; they can create plant stress.
  • Leafminers: Insects that create tunnels in leaves, weakening the plant.
  • Scales: Pests that attach themselves to the plant’s surface, feeding on sap and causing harm.

How to Use Fulcrum

Fulcrum can be used in two primary modes:

  • Dilute the product in water and apply it by spraying it onto the leaves of the plants. Dosage can vary from 2-12 fl oz per 100 gallons of water depending on the level of infestation.
  • For drench, apply 2 fl oz of Fulcrum per 100 gallons of water. This is really the best way to treat the base of the plants.

To get the best benefits from this product, treat when insects are most active, and make sure that the leaves of the plant are covered thoroughly with the treatment.

Safety and Handling

After application of Fulcrum, do not enter the treated area for 12 hours. The product carries a signal word of "Caution," indicating it should be handled with care. Store the Fulcrum in a cool, dry location away from sunlight and out of the reach of children and animals.

Benefits of Using Fulcrum

There are some benefits of using Fulcrum, which is why it should be an integral part of the pest control tools in use.

  • Long-Lasting Effects: After being sprayed out, Fulcrum continues to do its job for a while, which means users get even more protection from pests after being sprayed.
  • No Harm to Beneficial Insects: If used as directed, Fulcrum has minimal impact on beneficial insects such as lady beetles or bees, so it can be integrated as part of an IPM program.
  • Cost-Effective: Fulcrum is a long lasting option for pest control because users don't have to apply it often.

Environmental Impact

Fulcrum is the most environmentally friendly alternative to have. It doesn’t harm most beneficial insects when used according to label instructions, and it can be used in landscape settings where bees and other pollinators are active. But it is important to use the product at times when pollinator activity is low, such as early in the morning or late in the evening.

Summary

OHP Fulcrum Insect Growth Regulator is a versatile insecticide with a proven insect growth regulator to stop many different pests. Its broad-spectrum activity and ease of use make it an incredibly useful and valuable tool for the cultivation of healthy plants.
