Description

The Hydro-Logic Big Boy filter features a KDF85 Catalytic Carbon Filter, a high-power jammer that can be used at home or in the garden. It removes harmful chemicals, sediments, and other impurities, ensuring the water remains pure.

Key Features

The Hydro-Logic Big Boy features a 2-stage KDF85 catalytic carbon filter producing the best water in modern horticulture use. The main features are as follows:

  • High Flow Rate: The Big Boy goes 7 gallons per minute, or 420 gallons per hour. The performance is suitable for both domestic and horticultural applications. Due to its flow rate, it can clear large amounts of water without any loss of effectiveness.
  • High Capacity: With a filtering capacity of 50,000 gallons, the Big Boy 12000 requires filter change only once in long intervals of time. Consequently, the unit is economical in terms of use to homes or gardens that require constant filtration.
  • KDF85 Catalytic Carbon Filter: The KDF85 catalytic carbon filter, designed into the Big Boy, removes 99 percent of chlorine, 95 percent of sediment, rust, silt, and other impurities, including volatile organic compounds (VOCs). This type of thorough filtration makes the resulting water capable of any use, including drinking, cooking, and irrigation purposes.
  • Two-Stage Filtration: The system utilizes oversized, two-stage housings featuring pleated and cleanable sediment-type filters and carbon block-type filters. This dual filtration system eliminates gross particulate matter and small-scale contaminants, thereby improving water quality.

Performance Benefits

The Hydro Logic Big Boy has several performance features that enhance high-quality filtration and reliability.

  • Removes Harmful Contaminants:The system uses a KDF85 catalytic carbon filter, highly active in removing chlorine, sulfur, iron, rust, sediment and silt, which can be found in both tap water and well water. The filtration process protects the water supply by not allowing these impurities to get into the water supply which enables cleaner and healthier drinking water.
  • Long-Lasting Filters: The KDF85 filter itself is more durable than standard types, enabling bigger intervals between replacements whilst reducing the time and costs associated with ongoing maintenance.
  • Bacteriostatic Properties: Moreover, the bacteriostatic feature of the Hydro-Logic Big Boy prevents the growth of bacteria, so that the water is clean and safe in all states during its lifecycle.

Installation and Maintenance

The equipment has a strong, wall-mountable aluminium bracket that facilitates setup. It also has 1-inch in/out fittings, which allows connecting to a possible existing plumbing system or using a garden hose connection kit optionally.

The Big Boy was designed to be easy to maintain and includes a cleanable sediment filter as well as an extended service life carbon block filter. Specific pressure gauges indicate consistent performance, and replacement of the filters is easily done through a supplied filter wrench.

Applications:

The Hydro-Logic Big Boy can be used very flexibly, as it is meant to perform a wide variety of functions, including:

  • Whole-house filtration: The technology PS is quite useful in filtering water that is dispersed in the home in such a way that it kills chlorine, sediment, and other impurities, and improves the quality of all of the water in the home for consumption, cooking, bathing, and beyond.
  • Gardening/hydroponics: Producers of plants or crops use Big Boy to provide clean and filtered water that promotes healthy, vigorous plants but reduces the buildup of harmful chemicals and nutrients.

Summary

The Hydro-Logic Big Boy, equipped with the KDF85 Catalytic Carbon Filter, is a state-of-the-art water filtration system that produces clean, purified water suitable for various applications. Its high rate of flow, extra capacity, and its high efficiency in removing contaminants make it a most desirable home/ garden applicant.

About Us

Grand Hydro Solutions

Grand Hydro Solutions is the fastest growing marketplace of horticulture, organics, hydroponics, and lighting supplies. Our mission is to give growers, farmers and cultivators all the tools they need to efficiently and successfully manage their growing operations.

Grand Hydro Solutions offers a wide array of products for cannabis growers including grow lights, hydroponics, and grow tents. We believe the best grower deserves the best equipment, that’s why we offer a variety of hydroponics and growing equipment to suit their needs, all at the most competitive prices.

In order to grow the perfect cannabis crop, there are a few key factors that must be taken into account, including the environment, soil, water, pests and diseases.

Airflow

Proper airflow is essential for preventing mold and mildew growth as well as pests like spider mites. The best way to ensure good airflow is to have at least one fan in your grow room that is set on a timer to turn on and off throughout the day. You also want to make sure that there are no dead spots in your grow room where air is not circulating properly.

Light

Cannabis plants require light to photosynthesize and produce energy. The amount of light your plants need depends on the stage of growth they are in as well as the type of light you are using (e.g., HPS, LED, fluorescent).

Humidity

If humidity is too high, it can lead to mold and mildew growth. If humidity is too low, the leaves may begin to dry out and curl. Again, each cannabis strain has a different ideal humidity range, so make sure to do your research before setting up your grow operation.

Water

The quality of the water you use to grow your cannabis crop is extremely important. The best water for growing cannabis is pure, clean water that has been filtered or distilled even though distilled water does have some downsides because of a lack of minerals. Keep in mind that impurities in the water can cause problems with the growth and development of your plants.

In general, cannabis plants need about one gallon of water per day. However, the amount of water your plants will need will vary depending on the size and type of plant, the climate, and the soil type. You should always check the soil before watering to make sure it is not too wet or too dry. Overwatering can lead to problems with root rot and nutrient deficiencies, while underwatering can stress your plants and cause them to produce fewer buds.

Pests

Pests are one of the most common problems that growers face when trying to produce a perfect cannabis crop. There are a wide variety of pests that can attack cannabis plants, including aphids, spider mites, whiteflies, and thrips. These pests can cause damage to the leaves, stems, and flowers of the plant, which can lead to reduced yields. In severe cases, pests can even destroy the plant.

There are a number of ways to prevent pests from attacking your cannabis crop. One of the most important things you can do is to keep your grow area clean and free of debris. This will help to reduce the chances of pests being able to take up residence in your grow room, facility, or greenhouse. You should also regularly inspect your plants for signs of pest activity, such as webbing or small holes in leaves. If you do find evidence of pests, you'll need to take quick action to eradicate them before they cause serious damage.

There are a number of effective pesticides that can be used to control pests on cannabis plants. However, it's important to remember that not all pesticides are created equal. Some products may be more effective against certain types of pests than others. Additionally, some pesticides may be more harmful to humans and animals than others. Therefore, it is important to do your research before using any type of pesticide on your cannabis crop.

Diseases

Manifestation of diseases is another common problem faced by growers trying to produce a perfect cannabis crop. There are a wide variety of diseases that can affect cannabis plants, including powdery mildew, root rot, and botrytis (gray mold). In severe cases, diseases can kill the plant outright.

There are a number of ways to prevent diseases from affecting your cannabis crop. One of the most important things you can do is to choose disease-resistant strains when possible. In addition, you should maintain strict hygiene practices in your grow operation in order to prevent the spread of disease-causing organisms. You should also regularly inspect your plants for signs of disease activity, such as discolored leaves or stunted growth.

Harvest

The timing of the harvest is critical to the quality of the final product. Cannabis should be harvested when the THC levels are at their peak. This can be determined by testing the buds with a THC test kit (available at most grow shops).

Storage

Once harvested, cannabis should be dried and cured properly in order to preserve its potency and flavor. Drying should be done slowly, in a dark, cool, and dry place. Curing is done by storing the dried buds in airtight containers. This allows the buds to “off-gas” any remaining moisture and chlorophyll, resulting in a smoother consumption experience.
