Description

Overview

Botanicare Cal-Mag™ Plus is an advanced calcium, magnesium, and iron supplement designed to address and correct common nutrient deficiencies that impede plant growth and development. This highly fortified formula is essential for growers using reverse osmosis (RO) water or cultivating in coco-coir-based media, where calcium and magnesium deficiencies are more likely to occur. Integrating Cal-Mag™ Plus into your nutrient regimen ensures your plants receive the essential minerals they need to thrive, resulting in more robust, healthier growth and enhanced yields.

Key Features

Comprehensive Nutrient Supplementation

  • Calcium, Magnesium, and Iron: Cal-Mag™ Plus provides a balanced ratio of calcium, magnesium, and iron—three crucial nutrients that support plant structure, photosynthesis, and overall vitality. Calcium is vital for cell wall development, magnesium is a core component of chlorophyll, and iron plays a crucial role in energy transfer within the plant.

Essential for RO Water and Coco Coir Media

  • Reverse Osmosis (RO) Water: When using RO water, essential minerals like calcium and magnesium are often stripped away during filtration. Cal-Mag™ Plus replenishes these nutrients, ensuring plants do not suffer from deficiencies.
  • Coco Coir-Based Media: Coco coir naturally draws calcium from the nutrient solution, which can lead to a deficit in your plants. Supplementing with Cal-Mag™ Plus compensates for this natural calcium draw, preventing deficiency symptoms and promoting robust growth.

Versatile Application

  • Nutrient Solution Additive: Cal-Mag™ Plus can be easily integrated into your existing nutrient program, providing the additional support your plants need without disrupting your routine.
  • Foliar Spray: For a more direct approach, Cal-Mag™ Plus can also be applied as a foliar spray, allowing for quick nutrient absorption through the leaves. This method is particularly effective for correcting deficiencies rapidly and enhancing overall growth.

Technical Specifications

  • Size: Quart (946 mL)
  • Nutrient Content: Contains calcium, magnesium, and iron
  • Application Rate: Follow the recommended application rate on the product label for optimal results
  • Packaging: Available in cases of 12 quarts

Benefits

Corrects Nutrient Deficiencies

  • Prevents Common Deficiencies: By providing a reliable source of calcium, magnesium, and iron, Cal-Mag™ Plus helps prevent and correct deficiencies that can lead to poor plant development, stunted growth, and reduced yields.
  • Enhances Plant Structure: Calcium is essential for building strong cell walls, while magnesium supports chlorophyll production. Together, these nutrients contribute to the overall structure and health of the plant.

Boosts Growth and Yield

  • Promotes Vigorous Growth: With a balanced supply of essential nutrients, plants are better equipped to produce strong roots, healthy foliage, and abundant flowers or fruits.
  • Improves Nutrient Uptake: Iron in Cal-Mag™ Plus improves the plant's ability to absorb and use other nutrients, leading to more efficient growth and higher yields.

Easy to Use

  • Simple Integration: Cal-Mag™ Plus is compatible with a wide range of nutrient programs and growing systems, making it easy to incorporate into your regular feeding schedule.
  • Foliar Application: For faster results, apply Cal-Mag™ Plus as a foliar spray, mainly when deficiency symptoms are already present.

Application Instructions

  1. Mixing: Shake the Cal-Mag™ Plus bottle well before use. Add the appropriate amount to your nutrient solution or water reservoir according to the instructions on the label.
  2. Foliar Spray: If applying as a foliar spray, dilute Cal-Mag™ Plus in water and apply evenly to the foliage using a spray bottle or sprayer. Ensure thorough coverage, particularly on the undersides of the leaves.
  3. Regular Feeding: Use Cal-Mag™ Plus as part of your regular feeding schedule, especially when using RO water or growing in coco-coir-based media.
  4. Storage: Store Cal-Mag™ Plus in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Ensure the bottle is tightly sealed when not in use.

Final Words

Botanicare Cal-Mag™ Plus Quart (12/Cs) is an essential supplement for growers looking to maintain optimal plant health and correct common nutrient deficiencies. Whether using reverse osmosis water, growing in coco coir, or simply boosting your plants' growth and yield, Cal-Mag™ Plus provides the vital nutrients needed for robust development.

With its easy integration into nutrient programs and versatile application options, Cal-Mag™ Plus is a must-have for achieving healthy, thriving plants.

About Us

Grand Hydro Solutions

Grand Hydro Solutions is the fastest growing marketplace of horticulture, organics, hydroponics, and lighting supplies. Our mission is to give growers, farmers and cultivators all the tools they need to efficiently and successfully manage their growing operations.

Grand Hydro Solutions offers a wide array of products for cannabis growers including grow lights, hydroponics, and grow tents. We believe the best grower deserves the best equipment, that’s why we offer a variety of hydroponics and growing equipment to suit their needs, all at the most competitive prices.

In order to grow the perfect cannabis crop, there are a few key factors that must be taken into account, including the environment, soil, water, pests and diseases.

Airflow

Proper airflow is essential for preventing mold and mildew growth as well as pests like spider mites. The best way to ensure good airflow is to have at least one fan in your grow room that is set on a timer to turn on and off throughout the day. You also want to make sure that there are no dead spots in your grow room where air is not circulating properly.

Light

Cannabis plants require light to photosynthesize and produce energy. The amount of light your plants need depends on the stage of growth they are in as well as the type of light you are using (e.g., HPS, LED, fluorescent).

Humidity

If humidity is too high, it can lead to mold and mildew growth. If humidity is too low, the leaves may begin to dry out and curl. Again, each cannabis strain has a different ideal humidity range, so make sure to do your research before setting up your grow operation.

Water

The quality of the water you use to grow your cannabis crop is extremely important. The best water for growing cannabis is pure, clean water that has been filtered or distilled even though distilled water does have some downsides because of a lack of minerals. Keep in mind that impurities in the water can cause problems with the growth and development of your plants.

In general, cannabis plants need about one gallon of water per day. However, the amount of water your plants will need will vary depending on the size and type of plant, the climate, and the soil type. You should always check the soil before watering to make sure it is not too wet or too dry. Overwatering can lead to problems with root rot and nutrient deficiencies, while underwatering can stress your plants and cause them to produce fewer buds.

Pests

Pests are one of the most common problems that growers face when trying to produce a perfect cannabis crop. There are a wide variety of pests that can attack cannabis plants, including aphids, spider mites, whiteflies, and thrips. These pests can cause damage to the leaves, stems, and flowers of the plant, which can lead to reduced yields. In severe cases, pests can even destroy the plant.

There are a number of ways to prevent pests from attacking your cannabis crop. One of the most important things you can do is to keep your grow area clean and free of debris. This will help to reduce the chances of pests being able to take up residence in your grow room, facility, or greenhouse. You should also regularly inspect your plants for signs of pest activity, such as webbing or small holes in leaves. If you do find evidence of pests, you'll need to take quick action to eradicate them before they cause serious damage.

There are a number of effective pesticides that can be used to control pests on cannabis plants. However, it's important to remember that not all pesticides are created equal. Some products may be more effective against certain types of pests than others. Additionally, some pesticides may be more harmful to humans and animals than others. Therefore, it is important to do your research before using any type of pesticide on your cannabis crop.

Diseases

Manifestation of diseases is another common problem faced by growers trying to produce a perfect cannabis crop. There are a wide variety of diseases that can affect cannabis plants, including powdery mildew, root rot, and botrytis (gray mold). In severe cases, diseases can kill the plant outright.

There are a number of ways to prevent diseases from affecting your cannabis crop. One of the most important things you can do is to choose disease-resistant strains when possible. In addition, you should maintain strict hygiene practices in your grow operation in order to prevent the spread of disease-causing organisms. You should also regularly inspect your plants for signs of disease activity, such as discolored leaves or stunted growth.

Harvest

The timing of the harvest is critical to the quality of the final product. Cannabis should be harvested when the THC levels are at their peak. This can be determined by testing the buds with a THC test kit (available at most grow shops).

Storage

Once harvested, cannabis should be dried and cured properly in order to preserve its potency and flavor. Drying should be done slowly, in a dark, cool, and dry place. Curing is done by storing the dried buds in airtight containers. This allows the buds to “off-gas” any remaining moisture and chlorophyll, resulting in a smoother consumption experience.
