Versatile Applications

Quick Rooter® plugs are great for all types of growing applications.

  • Soil‑Based Gardening: Propagators can transplant full plugs directly into the soil. The plug decomposes on its own, and the young plant moves without great difficulty.
  • Soilless and Hydroponic Systems: Plugs can be neatly slotted into net pots or hydroponic trays. Their high water holding capacity also means that they do not need frequent nutrient solution exposure.
  • Greenhouse and Nursery Use: Commercial growers value the uniformity and manageability. Plugs nest perfectly in trays, stack in the tray for compact storage and easy traveling.

Description

Rapid Rooter® replacement plugs are a great all-natural choice to start the seedlings and cuttings. These soil less grow plugs are used for cuttings and germination, and for the seedling stage of one to two weeks after transplant. They fit into the normal propagation trays and are compatible with soil and hydro applications.

Natural Composition

Rapid Rooter® plugs are all natural soilless organic grow plugs made of composted tree bark and organic materials. These plugs are free of soil, peat and synthetic fillers. The bark offers rigidity with aeration due to the fiber’s natural existence, while the organic fibers retain humidity. This combination results in a stable, oxygen‑rich medium that rapidly expands young roots with new cuttings or seedlings.

  • Decomposed Tree Bark: Provides rough texture for aeration around the root system.
  • Organic Components: Add coconut coir or other plant or fibre to help hold the water.
  • No Artificial Additives: Keeps plugs 100% natural and environmentally friendly.

Uniform Shape and Size

Rapid Rooter® plugs are each one of a kind, and made of a soilless most blend that is ready to use upon receiving. Nozzled plugs provide precise water distribution, exposure to light and nutrients. This uniformity allows the grower to predict germination times and minimize the risk of a flimsy or late sprout.

  • Diameter: Approximately 1.25 inches (32 mm)
  • Height: Approximately 1.5 inches (38 mm)
  • Cells per Tray: Fits standard 50‑cell trays or similar propagation systems.

Superior Root Development

Rapid Rooter® plugs are all natural soilless grow plugs made of composted tree bark and organic materials. The roots can grow freely through the fibrous structure. Once roots get to the plug’s edge, they are exposed to air, causing them to prune roots, leading to natural branching. This air‑pruning process encourages a dense, healthy root ball that is ready for transplant.

  1. Prevents spiraling when the roots reach the edge of the pot.
  2. Results in stronger, more vigorous plants.
  3. Heavy root mass accepts media rapidly.

Easy Transplanting

Transplanting with Rapid Rooter® plugs is quick and easy. The grower pulls out the whole plug from the tray cell and places it into the prepared soil or soilless medium. The roots do not have to be disentangled or the fine root tips disturbed.

  1. Wet plugs before lifting to prevent desiccating roots.
  2. Press up from below the cell to release.
  3. Apply the plug guide over the plug. Do not cover the plug guide's smooth surface.
  4. A gentle soaking is needed to allow the plug to enter its new home.

Improved Germination Rates

Rapid Rooter® plugs are better for germination than any soil. The uniform moisture and oxygen contents inside each plug provide an optimum atmosphere for seed germination. The light‑sensitive seeds can also be spread on the surface of plugs for simple observation.

Handling and Storage

Correct handling and storage are crucial to get the plugs' best performance.

Storage Tips

  • Keep it in a cool, dry area to minimize decomposition.
  • Never pile heavy articles of luggage on top of loaded trays.
  • For optimal performance use within 12 months of sale.

Pre‑Use Preparation

  • Hydrate: Soak trays in water for 30 minutes before seeding.
  • Drain: Allow excess water to drain to avoid waterlogging.

Monitoring and Maintenance

Rapid Rooter® plugs with seedlings and cuttings receive the same care as for any other propagating media.

Watering

  • Keep the plugs moist, but not drenched.
  • Watering can occur twice a day, depending on temperature and humidity.

Lighting

  • Give the plants even light so they don't get stretched.
  • Good seedling growth is typically under 12–16 hours of moderate light.

Conclusion

GH Rapid Rooter® 50/Pack Replacement plugs offer an effective and environmentally friendly alternative for starting seeds and cuttings. Their organic and soilless setup will help the plants flourish , promote a vigorous root system, and decrease the risk of transplant shock. Ideal for both soil and hydro, these plugs are perfect for all seed-starting needs.

About Us

Grand Hydro Solutions

Grand Hydro Solutions is the fastest growing marketplace of horticulture, organics, hydroponics, and lighting supplies. Our mission is to give growers, farmers and cultivators all the tools they need to efficiently and successfully manage their growing operations.

Grand Hydro Solutions offers a wide array of products for cannabis growers including grow lights, hydroponics, and grow tents. We believe the best grower deserves the best equipment, that’s why we offer a variety of hydroponics and growing equipment to suit their needs, all at the most competitive prices.

In order to grow the perfect cannabis crop, there are a few key factors that must be taken into account, including the environment, soil, water, pests and diseases.

Airflow

Proper airflow is essential for preventing mold and mildew growth as well as pests like spider mites. The best way to ensure good airflow is to have at least one fan in your grow room that is set on a timer to turn on and off throughout the day. You also want to make sure that there are no dead spots in your grow room where air is not circulating properly.

Light

Cannabis plants require light to photosynthesize and produce energy. The amount of light your plants need depends on the stage of growth they are in as well as the type of light you are using (e.g., HPS, LED, fluorescent).

Humidity

If humidity is too high, it can lead to mold and mildew growth. If humidity is too low, the leaves may begin to dry out and curl. Again, each cannabis strain has a different ideal humidity range, so make sure to do your research before setting up your grow operation.

Water

The quality of the water you use to grow your cannabis crop is extremely important. The best water for growing cannabis is pure, clean water that has been filtered or distilled even though distilled water does have some downsides because of a lack of minerals. Keep in mind that impurities in the water can cause problems with the growth and development of your plants.

In general, cannabis plants need about one gallon of water per day. However, the amount of water your plants will need will vary depending on the size and type of plant, the climate, and the soil type. You should always check the soil before watering to make sure it is not too wet or too dry. Overwatering can lead to problems with root rot and nutrient deficiencies, while underwatering can stress your plants and cause them to produce fewer buds.

Pests

Pests are one of the most common problems that growers face when trying to produce a perfect cannabis crop. There are a wide variety of pests that can attack cannabis plants, including aphids, spider mites, whiteflies, and thrips. These pests can cause damage to the leaves, stems, and flowers of the plant, which can lead to reduced yields. In severe cases, pests can even destroy the plant.

There are a number of ways to prevent pests from attacking your cannabis crop. One of the most important things you can do is to keep your grow area clean and free of debris. This will help to reduce the chances of pests being able to take up residence in your grow room, facility, or greenhouse. You should also regularly inspect your plants for signs of pest activity, such as webbing or small holes in leaves. If you do find evidence of pests, you'll need to take quick action to eradicate them before they cause serious damage.

There are a number of effective pesticides that can be used to control pests on cannabis plants. However, it's important to remember that not all pesticides are created equal. Some products may be more effective against certain types of pests than others. Additionally, some pesticides may be more harmful to humans and animals than others. Therefore, it is important to do your research before using any type of pesticide on your cannabis crop.

Diseases

Manifestation of diseases is another common problem faced by growers trying to produce a perfect cannabis crop. There are a wide variety of diseases that can affect cannabis plants, including powdery mildew, root rot, and botrytis (gray mold). In severe cases, diseases can kill the plant outright.

There are a number of ways to prevent diseases from affecting your cannabis crop. One of the most important things you can do is to choose disease-resistant strains when possible. In addition, you should maintain strict hygiene practices in your grow operation in order to prevent the spread of disease-causing organisms. You should also regularly inspect your plants for signs of disease activity, such as discolored leaves or stunted growth.

Harvest

The timing of the harvest is critical to the quality of the final product. Cannabis should be harvested when the THC levels are at their peak. This can be determined by testing the buds with a THC test kit (available at most grow shops).

Storage

Once harvested, cannabis should be dried and cured properly in order to preserve its potency and flavor. Drying should be done slowly, in a dark, cool, and dry place. Curing is done by storing the dried buds in airtight containers. This allows the buds to “off-gas” any remaining moisture and chlorophyll, resulting in a smoother consumption experience.
